Doug was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up there. He belonged to a Christian family. After high school he went to Hyles-Anderson College in Hammond, Indiana where he received a bachelor of arts degree and a master’s degree. It was there he met and married his wife, Janet. They have four natural-born children, and one adopted (not officially) daughter.
He has served on the staffs of three different churches in California and one church in each of the states of Idaho and Utah. For the past twenty-three years, he has served with the fine people of Gethsemane Baptist Church. He presently oversees the Men’s Ministry, teaches Firm Foundation, and drives a bus on Sundays. He also teaches Computer, Science and Yearbook in the high school.
